TVS Apache RTX 300 Launched: 36 PS Engine, Quick-Shifter & Premium Features

4 Min Read

TVS Motor Company has officially unveiled the Apache RTX 300, a groundbreaking adventure tourer that marks the Hosur-based manufacturer’s bold entry into the mid-capacity ADV segment. Built on the proven RR 310 platform but reimagined for rugged terrains, the RTX 300 combines streetfighter aggression with off-road capability. Launched at TVS MotoSoul 2025, this India-first motorcycle promises to rival the KTM 390 Adventure, BMW G 310 GS, and Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 with its powerful engine, segment-first features, and aggressive pricing.

Engine and Performance: Potent 36 PS Powerhouse

At the core of the TVS Apache RTX 300 is an uprated 312cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, DOHC engine derived from the RR 310. It churns out an impressive 36 PS at 9,700 rpm and 28.5 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm – a healthy bump over the RR 310’s 34 PS. The engine features race-derived technologies like DLC-coated finger followers for reduced friction and enhanced durability.

Paired with a 6-speed gearbox, it includes a bi-directional quick-shifter as standard for seamless clutchless shifts. Three ride modes (Urban, Rain, Sport) plus a dedicated Off-Road mode with rear ABS deactivation optimize performance across conditions. Expect a top speed of 165+ kmph and mileage around 30-35 kmpl in mixed use, making it versatile for daily commutes and long hauls.

Features and Technology: Loaded with Premium Kit

TVS has packed the RTX 300 with class-leading features to justify its premium positioning:

  • 6.75-inch TFT Display: Vertical orientation with Bluetooth connectivity, full-map navigation, voice assist, and crash alert via TVS Connect app.
  • Rider Aids: Ride-by-wire throttle, cornering ABS, traction control, wheelie control, and cruise control – many segment-firsts.
  • Lighting and Switchgear: Full LED illumination with DRLs, backlit switches, and adjustable levers.
  • Suspension and Brakes: Long-travel setup with 41mm USD forks (200mm travel) and preload-adjustable monoshock (180mm). Dual 300mm/240mm discs with Michelin Road 6 tyres on 19/17-inch spoked wheels (tubeless-ready).

Additional goodies include a tall windscreen, knuckle guards, bash plate, and a 17-litre fuel tank for extended range. Kerb weight is around 175 kg, ensuring nimble handling on twisties or trails.

Design and Styling: Aggressive ADV Aesthetics

The Apache RTX 300 sports a muscular, futuristic design with sharp fairings, a beak-like front fender, and gold-anodized forks. The upright ergonomics – wide handlebars, mid-set pegs, and 860mm seat height – promise all-day comfort. Available in striking colours like Battle Red and Desert Fury, it features rally-inspired graphics and a removable pillion seat for solo adventures.

Compared to the boxy Himalayan or sleek G 310 GS, the RTX stands out with its sporty, Apache DNA-infused look – ready for both tarmac carving and dirt blasting.

The TVS Apache RTX 300 is priced at ₹2.65 lakh (ex-showroom) for the standard variant, with the top-end RTX 300 Rally at ₹2.85 lakh featuring premium decals and accessories. On-road prices in major cities:
